9 december 2011, 11.31. Four French soldiers and a Lebanese civilian were wounded at 9:30 AM on Friday when a bomb went off near a UNIFIL patrol in Naba’a area located between Housh and Burj al Shamali towns east of Tyre, security sources said.

Sources said the bomb targeted a French contingent patrol which operates under the UNIFIL command in the south.

All of the wounded suffered light injuries and were rushed to a hospital for treatment.

One of the wounded French soldiers was a woman officer.

The Lebanese army and UNIFIL forces encircled the scene of the explosion and conducted a thorough search of the area.

Reports said that a number of houses suffered material damages as a result of the explosion.
